Seth Boustead – Executive Director

Seth is a composer, radio host, arts manager, writer, concert producer, in-demand speaker who is revolutionizing how and where classical music is performed and how it is perceived by the general public. He received his Master of Music Composition degree from the Chicago College for the Performing Arts in 2002 and has gone on to forge a unique and highly personal musical identity through a prolific outpouring of works in every conceivable genre. Seth’s music is performed internationally and has been on radio and television in Chicago, San Francisco, New York and Paris. His orchestra piece This Point Forward was a finalist for the American Prize. 

Chris Ramaekers – Music Director, Davis Theater concert series

Winner of the 2011 American Prize in Orchestral Conducting, Christopher Ramaekers is currently Principal Conductor of the Ravenswood Community Orchestra and Director of Orchestras at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Chris has been Music Director of the Orchestra of St. Vincent’s and the Hyde Park Youth Symphony and the summer of 2016 marked his seventh season as Director of Orchestras at Camp Encore/Coda in Sweden, Maine.

As a guest conductor, Chris has appeared with the Skokie Valley Symphony, Kalamazoo Symphony, North Shore Chamber Orchestra, Salt Creek Chamber Orchestra, the Alice Millar Brass Ensemble, Ensemble Dal Niente, Access Contemporary Music’s Palomar Ensemble, the Chicago Opera Vanguard, and internationally with the Berlin Sinfonietta.

Chris was a 2012-2013 Conducting Fellow with the Allentown (PA) Symphony Orchestra and a part of the 2013 Emerging Conductors Program with the Peninsula Music Festival. He holds degrees from Western Michigan University and Northwestern University.

Christy Bennett – Director of Personnel and Development

Christy has been teaching voice and piano lessons for over a decade. She has been performing in Chicago and throughout the US since 2005.

She holds a BA in vocal Performance from DePaul University where she also worked in the DePaul Community Music office.

As a teacher, Christy combines rote-learning with creativity using music games and composition to inspire and motivate students.

In addition to teaching for ACM School of Music, she is also the Director of Personnel and Development where she hopes to make music and creativity a flourishing part of the communities ACM touches.

Trevor Patrick-Watkin – Director of Operations

Trevor is our Director of Operations and teaches students in the areas of flute, piano, music theory, composition, and voice. He studied flute and composition at Point Loma Nazarene University and at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he also taught undergraduate Aural Skills and Music Theory. Trevor is composer-in-residence with The Right Brain Project, and received a Jeff Award for his musical score to Dream Theatre Company’s world premiere of The Black Duckling.

 

 

David Wetzel – Production Coordinator

David B. Wetzel is a musician, educator, and programmer with special expertise in music technology. He has designed interactive computer music systems for numerous performances and has presented his research on the sustainability of interactive electroacoustic works at festivals and conferences nationally and internationally.

His most recent creative work is devoted to the ”accessible technology ensemble,” a project aimed at promoting participation by the general public in ensemble performance through interactive digital technologies. Dr. Wetzel was the founder and coordinator of the music technology degree program at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania where he was an associate professor of clarinet and music technology.

He previously taught applied and general music, music technology, and multimedia at Central Arizona College, the Peabody Preparatory, and the Baltimore High School for the Arts. Dr. Wetzel has also worked as an instructional technologist, orchestra manager/librarian, sound engineer, multimedia designer, and concert producer.

Currently, he teaches courses in music technology and computer programming at Loyola University Chicago, and is the co-founder of the Loyola University Technology Ensemble (LUTE).
