ACM has three exciting musical summer camps for kids this summer. If you’re looking for a camp that’s fun but is also a place where kids will learn valuable skills, these camps are for you.
- Music Theater Camp:
- June 18th-29th 9am-3pm
- Learn the basics of healthy singing, acting and stage presence and how to work with an accompanist! Each student will get to perform a solo or in a small ensemble and will be a part of a large ensemble performance for a final production for parents and friends.
- Music Technology Camp:
- July 9th-13th 9am-Noon
- Tablet or laptop computer recommended but not required
- Students choose between notated music and electronic music depending on their interest and ability level. At the camp, they will compose music utilizing their own instruments, auxiliary instruments and found objects. Students will learn to use MuseScore, Audacity and other software to create their own music and record it.
- Some campers will even have the opportunity to compose pieces to be performed by the Chamber Music Camp at the Thirsty Ears Festival! Camp with culminate in a final performance for parents and friends.
Chamber Music Camp:
July 16th-27th 9am-3pm
Learn the art of communication by working with their peers to perform small ensemble pieces! Students will get to name their chamber ensemble, learn to make musical decisions as a group, and cultivate the strong ensemble skills like listening, watching, and cueing. The camp will conclude with a final performance for parents and friends and a performance at ACM’s Thirsty Ears Street Festival!
