1001 Afternoons in Chicago 2008

Long before we partnered with Strawdog Theater to turn stories from this famous collection by Ben Hecht into a radio play, we collaborated with Erin Carlisle Norton and the Moving Architects dance company to make a version for live music and dance.  In fact it was Erin who introduced us to these fabulous stories in the first place.

ACM composers Seth Boustead and Amos Gillespie each wrote a half hour of music inspired by six stories and we performed the resulting piece two nights with the second night featuring a panel presentation of Rick Kogan, Neil Steinberg, Esther Cepeda and Seth Boustead.

This was only the beginning of our involvement with these classic stories but it was clear even then that we were onto something.
