All lessons in our Ravenswood and South Loop locations are now being given online at least until December 2020. In Avondale and Rogers Park we have limited in-person availability
Taking lessons at ACM means being part of an organization that creates innovative programs like the Sound of Silent Film Festival and the Thirsty Ears Festival, Chicago’s only classical music street festival.
ACM regularly commissions music from composers around the world, produces a concert series at the Davis Theater and has been featured on PBS, WFMT, WBEZ, the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times to name a few.
As a non-profit with the mission of integrating musical creativity into everyday life, we encourage our students to create their own music in addition to learning the fundamentals.
We offer guitar lessons to adults and kids age 6 and up, beginners are welcome and our teachers are able to teach all musical styles.
Our approach incorporates musical theory, chord strumming and music reading and we encourage our students to play with each other in ensembles. We have regular recitals (now happening virtually) which gives them a chance to meet other young musicians and learn to perform in a friendly, social environment.
Half hour private lessons are $36 and we’re on a monthly enrollment so it’s $144 per 4-week month. 45 and 60 minute lessons are also available. You can start any time, we pro-rate if it’s in the middle of a month.
