The CD release last Wednesday evening for the recording of 1001 Afternoons in Chicago was a great success!
The release celebrates a new radio play based on the writings of Ben Hecht, a noted jounalist working in Chicago in the 1910’s and 20’s. The play features music by Seth Boustead and Amos Gillespie and voice acting by members of the Strawdog Theatre.
The event took place in downtown Chicago’s beautiful Fine Arts Building with a view overlooking Grant Park.
Visitors were trasported back in time to the 1920s by riding to the 12th floor in the manually operated elevator and listening to the old-style jazz of members of the Pilsen Hot Six.
To cap off an unusual evening, our guests were entertained by the tricks of a local Chicago magician!
