Classical music has come a long way from the days of wigs and quill pens. Today’s composers use software to notate their ideas and are inspired by rock, jazz, folk music from around the world and much more: a stunning array of influences that create a rich and fascinating sonic palette.
Access Contemporary Music is committed to showcasing the exciting developments in contemporary classical music by bringing it to life through innovative collaborations, music in public spaces, the Sound of Silent Film Festival, our Composer Alive commissioning program and by fostering the creation of new music in our storefront music schools.
Our 2015-2016 season will see our Open House program expand to Milwaukee, the return of our Sound of Silent Film Festival to New York, a three-concert series in partnership with the University of Chicago, a collaboration with Mallorca composer Mateu Malondra and the television premiere of the film version of 1,001 Afternoons in Chicago.
All told it’s going to be an action-packed year for ACM and we hope you’ll join us!
