2008-2009 Season

Our third year of giving a formal concert season in Chicago was a landmark year for us because we were joined by our new Artistic Director Francesco Milioto.  Francesco is a fabulous conductor and pianist and ensemble coach and with him at the helm we were suddenly able to program large-scale ambitious works which we lost no time doing!

In this season we gave a concert of music by French composers, presented Le Chemin by Christopher Dietz, a sprawling large ensemble work inspired by first meeting of Chicago’s Jesuit settlers with the native population and we got to work with “Genius” grant winner Reginald Robinson on a concert of contemporary rags.

We also performed live on 98.7 WFMT and in Chicago’s newest outdoor concert venue, Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park and we traveled to Paris for two concerts at the Paris Conservatoire.   Merveilleux!
