1,001 Afternoons in Chicago Radio Play

In 1921 then-Chicago journalist Ben Hecht, later to be known as the “Shakespeare of Hollywood,” wrote a daily column called 1,001 Afternoons in Chicago which was essentially a series of short story masterpieces.

ACM has partnered with Strawdog theater company to create a live radio play, with new music by Seth Boustead and Amos Gillespie, based on 6 of the best of these stories.

The next step is we go into the studio in October 2013 to record the music and then the actors voices in November and then we’ll be mixing it all together and releasing it on CDin early 2014.  We’re also making a 30 minute film version of the project too.

We performed the show live on May 21 at Architectural Artifacts and the videos from that performance are below.  Enjoy!
