Seth Boustead received his Master of Music in music composition from the Chicago College for the Performing Arts where he studied with Stacy Garrop, Don Malone and Patricia Morehead.

Seth has been the recipient of many honors including first place in the prestigious Union League and Civic Arts Foundation’s Piano Composition Competition for his piece Six Moods for Solo Piano and being chosen as one of three composers to be featured in an Emerging Artists Program at the Chicago Cultural Center.

As a composer Seth's music has been performed across the United States and in Europe. Recent commissions and projects include a song cycle Songs of Love and Transience for mezzo soprano Veronica McHale and a piece for dancers and mixed ensemble based on Ben Hecht's book 1,001 Afternoons in Chicago.

An advocate for silent film, Seth started the Sound of Silent Film festival in 2006 and has composed and performed music live for dozens of short silent films.

Seth is the co-producer of the film Composer Alive: Eastern Expressions which was recently aired on WTTW. He is the co-founder and Executive Director of Accessible Contemporary Music.
