Biography

Robin Hayes Clevenger, a native of suburban Atlanta, Georgia, received her Bachelor of Music degree in Horn Performance from Indiana University in 2001, and earned her Master of Music degree in Horn Performance in 2003 from the same institution. At IU, she was a student of Michael Hatfield and Richard Seraphinoff; Robin has also studied with David Griffin, Myron Bloom, Randy Gardner, Eli Epstein, Neil Kimel, Richard Deane, and Susan Welty.

In addition to Palomar, Robin performs with the New Millennium Orchestra and the Harper Symphony, and has appeared with Light Opera Works, Camerata Chicago, Highland Park Strings, and the Lira Ensemble, Chicago's Polish-American symphony. As a former member of the "Freeway Philharmonic", she has performed with the symphonies of Rockford, Green Bay, South Bend, Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan, and Dubuque, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and held the position of Second Horn of the Illinois Symphony from 2008-2010. Robin serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Composers Orchestra, which enjoyed a very successful inaugural season in 2010-2011.

Passionate about music education, Robin has maintained a successful teaching studio in the northern suburbs since 2006. She is currently pursuing State of Illinois K-12 music teacher certification.
