Laura Koepele-Tenges

A native of Michigan, Laura Koepele-Tenges is an active freelance and recital flutist, teacher and clinician in the Chicagoland area. She earned her undergraduate degree at DePaul University and holds a Master of Music in Flute Performance from Chicago College of the Performing Arts/Roosevelt University, where she completed additional course work in music theory and pedagogy.

In addition to teaching in Forest Park, Laura is on faculty at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, and she serves on the Advisory Board of iSchool in New York. She previously taught at both Concordia University and Roosevelt University. Laura has been heard with the Lira Ensemble, Ars Musica Chicago, the Midwest Symphony Orchestra, the Adrian Opera House Orchestra, and the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Especially active in the performance of new music, she is Artistic Director for Accessible Contemporary Music (ACM), the performance group she co-founded. Laura’s Duo for Flute and Cello was premiered in 2003, and her Interlude received a reading on the internet earlier this year.
