Our annual concert in the storied confines of Chicago’s favorite former speakeasy, the Green Mill. This year’s action-packed program features music inspired by visual art and film, an ongoing collaboration with Galway-based Concorde Ensemble, and the first installment in our innovative Composer Alive program.
As part of our Global Connections program we’ve partnered with the Concorde Ensemble to exchange music. They performed music by our resident composers Mike McFerron and Katrina Burton and now we will perform music by Jane O’Leary and Rhona Clarke.
Ms. Clarke is traveling to Chicago to attend the performance. This year’s Composer Alive project features music by Ben Vida. His piece Liminal Bends features fixed-electronics melding with the instrumental ensemble to form acoustical phenomona that create a hallucinatory, submersive, and deeply engaging experience for the listener.
Ben will be in Chicago for the performance and will perform a set immediately after Palomar.
