KT Somero

KT Somero, a California native, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Clarinet Performance and was awarded the Gluck Fellowship from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003. Later that year, she moved to Chicago to begin graduate studies at DePaul University, and in 2005 completed a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance.

Her principal mentors include Gary Gray of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and Hollywood film studios and John Bruce Yeh of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. KT is a founding member of the Chicago-based ensemble claraconbrio, bass clarinetist of the Evanston Symphony Orchestra, and a professional instrument tester for the Leblanc corporation.

She joins Accessible Contemporary Music as a new member for the 2006-2007 season and continues to perform and record locally as a free-lance musician.
