July 12, 2010 -- Accessible Contemporary Music (ACM) presents Composer Alive: Nagoya, an internet-based collaboration with Japanese composer Tomohisa Hashimoto.

Emerging Japanese composer Tomohisa Hashimoto will compose a new musical work in three installments throughout the summer of 2010. Each installment will be emailed to ACM and recorded and posted to ACM’s website along with composer and performer comments.

The project will culminate in a concert of music by living Japanese composers, including the World Premiere of the new piece by Tomohisa Hashimoto in September. The concert will be attended by Mr. Hashimoto.

“I am so excited and feel very honored to be chosen for this collaboration,” says Tomohisa Hashimoto. “The Composer Alive program is well-known and highly esteemed. It is also a fantastic opportunity for a composer to write a piece in installments and to hear the piece performed while I write it.”

Rehearsal dates:

  • July 18 at 6:00 PM.
  • August 22 at 6:00 PM
  • September 26 at 6:00 PM
