Robin Hayes Clevenger, a native of suburban Atlanta, Georgia, received her Bachelor of Music degree in Horn Performance from Indiana University in 2001, and earned her Master of Music degree in Horn Performance in 2003 from the same institution. At IU, she was a student of Michael Hatfield and Richard Seraphinoff; Robin has also studied with David Griffin, Myron Bloom, Randy Gardner, Eli Epstein, Neil Kimel, Richard Deane, and Susan Welty.
Robin joined ACM in 2007 and is a member of the Palomar Ensemble. Outside of the contemporary music realm, she is Second Horn of the Illinois Symphony, and has appeared with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and the symphonies of Northwest Indiana, South Bend, Rockford, and Green Bay, among others.
As a freelance musician in Chicago, Robin performs with the New Millennium Orchestra and the Lira Ensemble, and has worked with such groups as Camerata Chicago, Erato Chamber Orchestra, Elgin Opera Theatre, Highland Park Strings, and the Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony.
She is a member of Ars Ventus Chamber Brass, a quintet based in Chicago and Madison, WI. Committed to furthering music education and advocacy, Robin maintains a large teaching studio in the northern suburbs.
In addition, she recently joined the faculty of the People's Music School in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood, and coaching for the YOURS Orchestra, Chicago's first "El Sistema" youth orchestra program.
