Roland Moyer

A native of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, double bassist Roland Moyer holds music degrees from Syracuse University and the New England Conservatory. His teachers have included Edward Castilano, Leslie Martin, and Henry Portnoi. Roland served as Principal Double Bass for four years with the Windsor, Ontario Symphony. He has also performed as Principal Bass with the Lisbon (Portugal) Metropolitan Orchestra and in the section of the Spoleto Festival Orchestra (Italy), National Repertory Orchestra in Colorado, Sarasota Opera Orchestra and the Syracuse Symphony. Also a pianist, Roland currently teaches Piano and Double Bass at the People's Music School in Chicago and maintains a busy freelance career in the Chicago Area with both instruments.
