Billie Howard

Billie Howard, a Montana native, began playing the violin and piano at the age of four. After receiving her B.A in piano and violin performance at Montana State University, she moved to Chicago for graduate study at Northwestern University, where she recieved a M. Mus in piano performance and pedagogy. Her primary piano teachers have been Laurel Yost, Sylvia Wang and Marcia Bosits. She studied violin with Creech and Patricia Reynolds and Johan Jonsson.

She is currently an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University, River Forest, where she teaches piano for the Preparatory and Community Piano Program as well as university music classes. As a performer she has won several competitions and awards and appears regularly as a solo and collaborative performer. She is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, MTNA and ISMTA.

In addition to her classical performances, Billie plays electric violin and sings for the Chicago-based rock band, Beard.
