Seth Boustead

Seth Boustead received his Master of Music in music composition from the Chicago College for the Performing Arts where he studied with Stacy Garrop, Robert Lombardo, Don Malone and Patricia Morehead. Seth has been the recipient of many honors including first place in the prestigious Union League and Civic Arts Foundation’s Piano Composition Competition for his piece Six Moods for Solo Piano and being chosen as one of three composers to be featured in an Emerging Artists Program at the Chicago Cultural Center.

Seth is the co-founder and artistic director for the Chicago-based new music ensemble Accessible Contemporary Music which promotes and performs classical music written, more or less, since 1975. As a composer his music has been performed across the United States and his piano music has been aired on Limelight, a Philadelphia based radio program on WQHS, which features the music of contemporary American composers. As a pianist Seth has performed frequently around the Chicago area, as a soloist and with Accessible Contemporary Music.

Seth recently moved to Chicago's Uptown neighborhood with his wife Maria and, when not composing, practicing or obsessing about contemporary music spends his time looking for a bar with a halfway decent pool table in the area.
